Is Ally more or less expensive vs in-house processing?

We get this question all the time.

"Why wouldn't I just process payments in-house"

Or

"I can do it less expensive"

So, we polled our existing customers to find out where the value of Ally is.

Outside of the risk of running a payment and collection business in-house deeming you the employer, here are the top 8 responses.

All of these are included in Ally's flat rate.

1. Payroll - Companies like ADP charge $79/month + $5-7month per "employee" (but we know you don't call referred caregivers employees!)

2. Software - If you're using a home care software to offer shifts, punch time, etc then market rates are $12-$15 per client per month.

3. Credit Card Processing - Average credit card processing when charging clients are 3-5% of billable invoice

4. Human Billers - A typical registry assigns ~50 clients per biller and the average biller is ~$50k in cost when looking at salary, bonus, payroll burdens, and overhead.

5. Audit Protection - Ever been audited or have to handle a claim that the caregiver was misclassified as a contractor & self-employed? An audit cost can be ~$25,000 to defend in attorneys fees and ~$25,000 in sunk time between you, your team, records request, and the loss of focus on growing your business. Ally has unique features that when shown to an auditor, they often close the case within hours.

6. Timecard Changes Support - Ally allows caregivers to edit their own timecards but even with that in place, caregivers still like to call support to change their timecards, and sometimes after the timecards are locked. Registries direct all these inquiries to the Ally support team for compliance purposes.

7. Caregiver Payment Support - In addition to timecard edits, the #2 reasons reach out for support is "my pay is wrong" or "I didn't get my pay", etc. All inquiries related to pay should go to Ally to keep with the caregiver being an independent contractor.

8. Chargeback Protection - A chargeback is when a client calls their credit card issuer and challenges the card. The credit card company reverses your payment and makes you defend the cast. Industry average shows ~0.5-1% of all credit card charges are challenged by the card holder and ~70% of the claims fall in support of the card holder.
